“A Different Version of Yum Yum”: Alivia Bierley Steps Into Her Biggest Test Yet
HOUSTON – For Alivia “Yum Yum” Bierley, MMA is more than a sport—it’s a place to prove herself, grow, and chase the biggest stage of them all.
“I’ve always said ever since my first amateur fight I’m going to get to the UFC and then take over from there and I see this as a stepping stone to that,” says Bierley, who fights out of Chicago, Illinois with Spratt Hybrid Systems and holds a 2-1 record, ranked #19 pound-for-pound among women fighters in the U.S. Southwest region.
“If you want to be the best you got to fight the best and that’s what I’m here to do,” she says. “I’ve always been an athlete my entire life. Obviously as you get into your adulthood graduate college you kind of run out of things to compete in and I figured that MMA would be a little more fun and exciting than bodybuilding cause I think that was kind of the alternative route for me but I’ve always loved sports I’ve loved competition and I think if you could describe me in one word it’s obsessively and I see this sport as a way to like physically compete at the highest level it’s like physical chess as all fights it’s another opportunity first and foremost to grow and progress I think that’s kind of been my theme for every fight is every time I step back into that cage I want to show myself and everybody else a different version of Yum Yum I’m excited to one put on a show for the fans but then secondly get my name called.”
Next, Bierley faces her toughest test yet: Bella Mir, daughter of former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir, who fights out of Las Vegas, Nevada with an undefeated 3-0 record.
For Bierley, the stakes are high—but so is the chance to show the world the next evolution of “Yum Yum.”

*Alivia’s fight with Bella Mir has been cancelled. Alivia Bierley made a statement on social media:
“I will not be able to make the walk 7/27
with Fury. I am recovering / rehabbing from an injury and am beyond disappointed that I was not able to cross the finish line. I will be back, I will be better and will use this humbling experience as a time to reflect and grow and truly never take anything for granted,
Thank you to both @furyfighting and my opponent @ladymir11for the opportunity.”
