“Through the Fire”: Kameron Alexander Steps Into His Third Fight at Ragin’ FC
Lafayette, LA - “I’m willing to go through the fire to get to what I wanna get, and I’m not gonna give up unless it happens,” says Kameron Alexander, Lafayette’s #32 ranked amateur lightweight.
With just two fights under his belt and a 1-1 record, Alexander is still early in his MMA journey but already beginning to settle in. “I’ve been in there a couple times already,” he says, “so I’m starting to get a little comfortable.”
That comfort is building his confidence heading into his third amateur fight on June 14 at Ragin’ FC, where he’ll face Michael Taylor (1-6).
“I’m hoping this time instead of it being a decision, it goes to a finish,” Alexander states, reflecting on his goal for a more definitive performance.
Known for his athleticism and dynamic style, Alexander believes fans are in for something special when he steps into the cage. “They’re gonna be in for a lot of high-flying techniques, explosive grappling, a lot of athleticism,” he says. “And I think that’s why they should watch me.”
His passion for martial arts isn’t new—it’s something that’s been with him since high school. “I’m a big fan of martial arts, I always have been,” Alexander explains. “In high school, I used to bring Bruce Lee books into my teacher’s class and read them. I was already really into Kung Fu movies and stuff like that.”
That influence shaped not only his fighting style but his mentality. “I try to be very calm, very honorable—like warrior-like—much how Bruce Lee was,” Alexander says. “But I also think I’m very battle-hungry. I’m very tough.”
With one foot still in the learning phase and the other planted firmly in his fighting spirit, Alexander’s focus is locked in on taking the next step in his evolution.
Kameron Alexander vs. Michael Taylor takes place June 14 at the Cajundome Convention Center as part of Ragin’ FC.
