“Back On Top”: Cameron Graves Defends His Featherweight Title at Fury FC 105
HOUSTON – For Cameron Graves, this title defense is about more than just a belt—it’s about resilience, redemption, and legacy.
“It means a lot—losing the title and then winning it back,” says Graves. “It means the world to me that I’m able to do this again after going through a lot of hardships, to come back and be the champion again and defend the title again. On Sunday, I’m going to show everyone how much I care.”
Graves, ranked #7 among pro featherweights in the U.S. Southwest region with a 14-7 record, fights out of Team Tooke MMA and Gracie Barra The Woodlands in Houston, Texas. He’ll put his Fury FC Featherweight Title on the line against Cody Freeman (10-6), the #16-ranked featherweight in the region, who trains out of Main Street Boxing and Muay Thai—also based in Houston.
Graves brings deep experience to this matchup, both in the cage and on the mats. “I’ve been training for 17 years,” he says. “I started after watching my first UFC. I fell in love with the sport in 2008.”
That love has never faded. “My goals in MMA are to retire in the UFC, and this is just one more step in the journey,” Graves explains.
His preparation has been fueled not just by ambition, but by a deep sense of gratitude. “I’m super excited to fight for Fury,” he says. “I’ve been training really hard. I’ve been a martial artist for the last 17 years. I’m just really blessed that I can continue to do this at a high level, and continue to inspire all of Houston, my students, and my team. I’m just blessed to have this opportunity to do this again.”
Graves enters Fury FC 105 ready to remind everyone why he’s wearing the belt—and why he doesn’t plan on giving it up anytime soon.
